The following information is for birthdays during in-person learning. During remote learning we will celebrate a child's birthday by singing "Happy Birthday" and "Zum Geburtstag viel Glueck" via Zoom. Your child is welcome to wear a crown or sticker on his/her birthday as long as it doesn't become a distraction.
If your child has a birthday you are welcome to bring store-bought items such as cookies, cupcakes, juice boxes etc to the cafeteria during our lunch time (10:25-10:55) and pass them out.
Please do not bring these items into the classroom and please do not drop them off at the office. There are no birthday celebrations in the classroom. All food has to be nut-free.
The German program celebrates traditional German holidays such as Sankt Martin, Nikolaus etc. This is the time when we invite volunteers and visitors to come to the classroom to join us. You will be notified of these celebrations, and the room parents and teachers will coordinate the events. Please keep in mind that we have to prioritize instructional time. The room parents and I will get in touch about classroom events and times for volunteers.
